The Game Awards, spilbranchens Oscar, blev uddelt forleden. Hele showet kan ses på YouTube-udsendelsen nedenfor. Her var det Baldurs Gate 3 fra Larian Studios og Alan Wake 2 fra Remedy, som blev dette års helt store vindere.
Prisen er blevet uddelt siden 2014 og vinderne kåres på baggrund af afstemning fra spiljournalister verden over. Tidligere er titler som The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, God of War og The Last of Us Part II løbet med titlen som årets spil.
Baldur’s Gate 3 rendte med hele ni priser, mens Alan Wake 2 tog otte statuetter med sig hjem. Ét af årets helt store titler, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, var nomineret i otte kategorier, men måtte gå tomhændet derfra.
Med danske briller var kategorien ‘Best Debut Indie Game’ interessant. Vinderen Cocoon er udviklet af det danske spilstudie Geometric Interactive. Cocoon er skabt af Jeppe Carlsen, som hos studiet Playdead var med til at skabe klassikerne Limbo og Inside.
